Slava Isusu Christu! Slava Na V’iki! Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
I am finally happy to be over the strep throat that pretty much killed the last part of March for me. I was told repeatedly that during your first year of teaching, you will contract every ailment, virus and infection that you come in contact with. I didn’t believe ‘em until it happened to me, but I am happy to be subbing, so I digress.
I am happy to be on my last week of antibiotics and am looking forward to the conclusion of classes next month. I really can’t believe how fast it all went – wasn’t it just January? Wasn’t this all just starting for me? Wow.
I am gearing up for a summer of teaching art and its history, traveling below Mason Dixon at least twice and enjoying the summer months. I am also hoping to finish editing my manuscript and releasing it by the end of August.
I can’t wait to finish writing my art curriculum. I am so excited to get to share a subject I am so passionate about with elementary school children. I hope I will not only get through to them, but also really make a difference this summer.

I was supposed to be in Biloxi volunteering, but finances and subbing have kept me in NJ instead. It’s fine, really, I have a lot of work to do with suite, and with my book of course. I really need to just get caught up and back on track. In the end, it’s a good thing I didn’t get to build stuff and trapse around the gulf for a week, though I am sure the photographs I would have come back with would have been stunning.
Ya win some, ya lose some I suppose.
We survived that killer storm that left many of us without power and water for the past few days. Luckily, we had both and the only real burden that we felt was that our fence fell down in part and we had to walk the dogs instead of just opening the door and let them roam free. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
I am definitely ready for summer. I am looking forward to many things in the coming months and part of me wishes that it all would just get here already. I am not, however, looking forward to turning 24 because that places me one year shy of 25, the magical age where you have to have life completely figured out or else the world views you as a loser for the most part.

Friday night, I went to MSG and got to see the Silversun Pickups and Muse! Our seats were terrible and the Silversun Pickups left much to be desired, but Muse was AWESOME! They played the four songs I wanted to hear and really just put on a passionate, fun show.
Tonight, I was a guest on the Mike and Tom Awesome Show which despite my nerves, was a lot of fun and made for a nice end of my Saturday. Getting to plug As We Write It and my Art Books column was pretty sweet too, not gonna lie.
Happy Reading!
